Three technologies

Although only a handful of people noticed, the first quarter of XXI-century was profoundly shaped, almost defined by 3 shadowy technologies, all remote: remote sabotage, remote mind reading and - sadly - remote killings.

The first shaped industrial landscape, and put security departments at the head of all companies and corporations worldwide. The second damaged families, domestic peace and human contacts. The third - made Herr Hitler&Co. laugh aloud, ironically, from their graves.

As an engineer, I'm deeply ashamed that some representatives of my profession developed, refined and put such devices in the hands of irresponsible users. Well, it happens with almost all new technologies applicable for war, power and money. And ,as it seems, most of them met the fate of labyrinths' builders - which is just right reimbursement...

The whole subject is too disgusting for me to elaborate further.

Instead, let me make some more general constatations on how we, as a race, see - contemporarily - the history-in-the-making: like from the hot air baloon, slowly raising from the Earth. When the cage still touches the ground, we see mostly nearby grass, bushes, and the viewers around. Later, some houses and roads appear.Then, we see fields and highways, start to notice some order in traffic and arrangement of human habitations.Only when the baloon reaches stratosphere we begin too see that the Earth is round and - pretty small.

But - very few baloons fly that high...
